ALTAR CARE
Altar Care is an important ministry performed by the ladies of the church each Saturday of the year. Assignments are made from volunteer coordinators, who serve twice a year, and from the general membership of ladies, who serve once every two years. Coordinators are responsible for contacting the other two ladies to set up a time to meet to clean the altar.
Altar Care is responsible for:
Vacuuming both the sanctuary and chapel altar areas.
Dusting both altars, holy statues, candle holders, lectern podium, and altar server areas.
Cleaning and refilling holy water bowls.
Cleaning glass doors behind altar.
Put chalices, purificators, pall and paten on side table on altar.
A more detailed list of duties is in the sacristy.
An altar care schedule is sent out every other month to the ladies scheduled for those two months. Please see the schedule on this website, or on the bulletin board in the vestibule. Should the coordinator not be available to work on her assigned Saturday, please try and swap with someone.
Holy Savior is grateful to our ladies who clean the altar and volunteer their time in service to prepare the altar for Mass.
