CYO

 

All youth in grades 7-12 are invited to join the Catholic Youth Organization for fun, faith, and fellowship. Throughout the year, we will participate in service projects, local and national retreats and conferences, fellowship nights and so much more! 

CYO will meet on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. before religious education. CYO leads the Youth Mass, which is the 2nd Sunday of the month during the school year.  Youth participating in the Mass will meet in the Parish Hall at 9:30 a.m.

Upcoming youth events:

  • Middle School Fall Retreat October 15-16, Lake Forest Ranch, Macon, MS. The middle school fall retreat is open to youth in grades 7 and 8.  The retreat will be led by a team from NET Ministries.  It will offer an opportunity for small groups, witness talks from NET Team members, interactive games, skits, music, and liturgy.
  • Diocese of Jackson Catholic Youth Conference (DCYC) March 3-5, 2023 – Vicksburg Convention Center. DCYC is open to youth in grades 9-12.  The conference will feature keynote presentations from various Catholic speakers, interactive games, activities, small groups, breakout sessions, prayer, music, reconciliation and closing mass with Bishop Kopacz!
  • Abbey Youth Festival– 2023 – St. Joseph Abbey and Seminary College, Covington, LAThe Abbey Youth Festival is an apostolic service of Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College. It is designed to provide young people with an opportunity to experience a day of prayer and faith formation with an exposure to the Benedictine tradition. Its focus is evangelization and vocational discernment by means of Liturgy, prayer, worship, music and education appropriate for Catholic young people grades 8 and up!
