LITURGY OF THE WEEK
THE SEASON OF LENT
--LENTEN SMALL GROUPS meet once a week during Lent. To join one of the small groups contact Paula Craft at 601-259-8045.
--WAY OF THE CROSS will be at 6:30 p.m. on Fridays during Lent, with Mass immediately afterward.
SOCIALS Fridays March 21st and April 4th following the
--COMMUNAL ROSARY sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary will be held in the chapel Fridays March 14, 28 and 11 beginning at 6:00 p.m. (prior to the Way of the Cross). All parishioners are invited to participate.
--GUIDELINES FOR ABSTINENCE DURING LENT The Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence. All persons who have completed their 14th year are bound by the law of abstinence. All adults are bound by the law of fasting, up to the beginning of their 60th year.
--PARISH LENTEN PENANCE SERVICE- Wednesday, April 9th at 7:00 p.m.
-RE Class Schedule: There will not be RE classes this Sunday, March 9th, Wednesday, March 12th and Sunday, March 16th due to spring break.
-Operation Rice Bowl is the official Lenten program of Catholic Relief Services. Children/youth in the RE program will be given rice bowl kits for Lent.
--All students preparing for the sacraments of First Communion, and Confirmation are required by Diocesan guidelines to participate in approved Religious Education programs.
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULT R.C.I.A class will not meet this Tuesday, March 11th due to spring break. Class will resume March 18th. All candidates with their sponsors are expected to attend. We thank Betty Cox for serving as Catechist and Melinda Ellis for providing hospitality last week. We encourage parishioners to volunteer for hospitality. Anyone who can help should contact Carolyn O’Connor at 601-924-6073.
GOLDEN OLDIES will meet this Tuesday, March 11th for lunch following the 11:30 a.m. Mass. Please bring your favorite dish to share.
ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARTY sponsored by the Knights of
GENERAL WORK DAY to clean the church grounds and interior facilities in preparation for Easter will be held Saturday, March 29th. All parishioners are encouraged to participate. Outdoor yard equipment, ladders, etc will be needed, cleaning supplies will be provided. Contact Mike Harkins at 601-966-6663 or, a sign up sheet is located in the vestibule.
KC LADIES AUXILIARY will meet this Wednesday, March 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the
PARISH NURSERY the nursery has been discontinued due to lack of interest and participation. We thank Kim Pevey for coordinating the nursery, along with her husband Carter and all those who have helped.
MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE NEWMAN CLUB The Newman club will not meet this Sunday, March 9th and 16th due to Spring break.
OUR SYMPATHY AND PRAYERS extended to Franz and Karen Barnes and family on the death of Karen's father, Peter Johanson, who died last week. May he rest in peace.
