LITURGY OF THE WEEK
A SUCCESSFUL BAR-B-QUE we want to thank all our parishioners who participated in and supported our 40TH Annual Chicken BBQ last weekend. We extend a special thank you to Allen Scott and crew for overseeing the cooking of the chickens, John Robertson, who purchased the chickens and other supplies, Denise Martinolich and crew for serving, and the breakfast crew for preparing a delicious breakfast for the workers. We appreciate all our parishioners who helped with the various aspects of the BBQ and who gave their time and effort to the project. We hope to have a final report on the income and expenses next week. Thank you for your support of our parish!
HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL for children in grades K-6th is Saturday, October 25th in the Parish Center from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. Boys bring a “salty” snack and girls a “sweet” snack to share. Children are encouraged to wear costumes. Parishioners who would like to volunteer to help should contact Rita Haselhorst at 601-924-0576.
RESPECT LIFE the Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary invite Holy Savior parishioners to join with them in praying the Rosary at the abortion clinic at 2904 State Street, starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25th. They will pray all four mysteries, bring a lawn chair if you wish.
CYO NEWS the CYO invite all parishioners to a pancake breakfast next Sunday, October 26th following the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Tickets can be purchased after all mass this weekend. Tickets are $4.00 for regular pancakes or $5.00 for special chocolate chip pancakes. The CYO will have movie night at 6 p.m. in the Parish Center this Sunday, October 19th in place of their regular meeting.
NEWMAN CLUB will meet this Sunday, October 19th at 6:30 p.m. in Jennings Room 308. Dinner will be provided. All College students are invited to attend. We thank those parishioners that have provided meals to the students so far: Matthew Westbrook, Rita Haselhorst, Sean & Bertinna Dubra, Betty Cox and Janet Pickett.
LITURGICAL MINISTERS’ SCHEDULE (Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, & Ushers) the next schedule will cover November and December. NEWCOMERS LUNCHEON A welcome luncheon for new parishioners will be held Sunday, November 9th following the 11:00 a.m. A special welcome is extended to all our new registered parishioners as well as to our Catholic students attending Miss College and Hinds. If you are new to the parish and have not yet registered we encourage you to fill out a registration form. Forms can be found on the table in the vestibule. We look forward to meeting all of our newcomers at the luncheon.
29th CATHOLIC HABITAT BUILD volunteers are still needed for Holy Savior work day on November 15th. Volunteer sign-up cards are located in the vestibule or you can contact Allen Scott at 601-506-8434. The house is located at 2940 Smith Robinson in Jackson.
MASS COUNT The Bishop has requested that all parishes & missions take a count of all people attending weekend Masses during the month of October. This is part of the ongoing planning of Mission & Ministry in the diocese of Jackson and helps the bishop in future planning for the placement of priests in parishes.

THE SECOND COLLECTION to be taken up at Masses this weekend is for the Propagation of the Faith in association with World Mission Sunday. This collection helps the Church’s missionary work around the world. Envelopes are available in the pews and in the vestibule.
